Foreign-flagged vessels are not affected sabotage principles
Government and the Commission V of the House agreed that foreign-flagged vessels to support oil and gas operations offshore will be protected in a special government regulations. This means that foreign-flagged vessels are not affected sabotage principles that are still able to operate in Indonesian waters.
The government concluded a meeting with Commission V read by the Speaker of the House Commission V DPR Soepredjo Yasti Mokoagow, Thursday (3/10/2011) in Jakarta. Sabotage principle is very important to use the Indonesian-flagged vessels by shipping companies.
According Yasti, Commission V of the House encourage the government to revise legislation in accordance with the provisions of law relating to the operation of ships offshore oil and gas business that special interests no later than 7th April 2011. Conditions, oil and gas business activities not support vessel used to transport people and goods.
Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi explained, the amendment of Law Number 17 Year 2008 on Shipping remains the road. So, the government and the Commission V of the House agreed to explore more about whether or not to revise the law relating to the application of the principle of sending it sabotage to ship oil and gas support.
In the near future, the Department of Transportation will make special rules for oil and gas business. In the rules it will be explained in which the ship should not be allowed and foreign flag in the context of offshore oil and gas business interests.
"We limit also, the chance of cooperation with the Indonesian-flagged vessels must exist. For example, if for transporting goods and people there, then had to wear the flag of Indonesia," he said.
Formulation of special PP will involve the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Minister of Justice and Human Rights, scheduled to be completed no later than 7 April. Director General of Oil and Gas Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Evita Legowo states, the possibility of regulatory changes that still exist.

- Open indicator cocks, turn the engine, then blow through the M/E. -----------------------------------
